Would you like to be better prepared for Ofsted Deep Dives across the curriculum? Would you like to know how addressing climate and sustainability feeds into your school improvement agendas? Would you like to inject environmental education across your school curricula through helping children learn more about their own locality and school grounds? Would you like tools and strategies to improve the welfare and mental health of all school stakeholders?
I can put together support packages for all types of schools and academy chains, as follows:
INSET days on how to create a Sustainable School (minus Greenwash!) and Leadership for Sustainability
Improving teacher competencies in developing children's skills in Geography and History and how these link to other curriculum areas, thus saving valuable time and planning effort
Use of field trips to enhance learning across the curriculum
How the School Estate (campus) can be developed and used as an effective learning resource, including how to create biophilic school grounds
How the use of energy and water and procurement processes can be streamlined to minimize waste and save money, whilst teaching the children how this works and seeing their input as part of the solution (with tried and tested model policies, which can be easily adapted for your context)
How to improve the mental well-being of staff and children with concrete strategies for developing an ethos of harmony, care and nurturing across all school operations
How to improve community and parent engagement with schools for the benefit of all and utilizing this to enhance the curriculum offer
Talks and workshops for Sustainable Schools conferences
All these packages are adaptable according to need and in some cases easily amalgamated to achieve the maximum positive effects. I never think that One Size Fits All!!
I am based in Northumberland and can travel reasonable distances (up to about two hours' travel), or work remotely with schools via zoom or email. This can take the form of whole-staff, leadership teams, year-group teams, subject leaders, or individual teachers.
